I read the article which is mentioned in the footnotes on page 238, The thin end of the whip from Vanity Fair, in order to give an example of corruption. I think is a very interesting example. The article said some very shocking things about Catherine personality, like she has never “been in love”, that she has never lost control for anyone and she feels sad that she has never known that, but on the other hand she is happy the way she is. The article also talk about the people around Catherine, like Beverly who accepts Catherine the way she is, this is very clear when Beverly affirms that there can never be any disagreement between them because Catherine decides everything and she is right even if she is wrong.
These statements clearly reflects the incorruptible nature of Catherine as a dominatrix, which I find amazing! Read the article, please.
